I spent some time on ID forum and a fellow sited 16 scientific papers that support Intelligent Design.
Sadly a scientist on that forum looked up every single paper proposally supports ID and not even one claimed anything like that. That scientist even knew some scientists who wrote one or two of those papers and those scientists are very much against ID.
So no Stephen. World class biologist are not expressing doubts about darwinian theory, they are wondering about several aspects of the theory, mechanisms, details about it.
World class creationists, some even with a phD like that dentist or an engineer, they doubt Evolution because their priest tell them to doubt or their souls are in danger.
If you have PhD in biology, you do not have doubts about Darwinian theory because then you UNDERSTAND IT.
Saddest story I know is about one geology major who realized that all he ever had been taught about bible and christianity was actively against what he had learned in university. so he faced a choice.
Lose faith in christianity or lose faith in science.
He chose religion and abandoned science.
That is a horror story boys and girls.

What I find scary is that it is totally possible that soon in red states biblical pseudoscience may get peer reviewed articles through that confirm Intelligent design and the creatinism, because fundamentalists hold so much political and financian power that it starts to affect public schools and universities.
There may come a day when we cannot trust scientific papers and peer review anymore on the bible belt.
